Debuts On Blu-ray And DVD June 5th From 20th Fox Home Entertainment

Specially Timed For World Environment Day
As The First-Time Ever Simultaneous, World-Wide, All Format Release

Home by Yann Arthus-Bertrand will be broadcast in the US on June 5th at 9pm ET/PT exclusively on the National Geographic Channel, as part of the film's global premiere in conjunction with World Environmental Day.

CENTURY CITY, Calif. – It’s too late… to be a pessimist when the inspirational, informative and breathtaking documentary, Home soars onto Blu-ray and DVD June 5, World Environmental Day, from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.  Directed by internationally renowned French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, produced by world famous director Luc Besson and narrated by five-time Academy Award® nominee Glenn Close (Dangerous Liaisons), Home aims to change the way people see the planet and their impact on it.  Shot in high definition in 54 countries and 120 locations over 217 days, the unique and first-time ever all-aerial filming style highlights the Earth’s wonders as well as its wounds and provides a necessary perspective to approach the changing environment.

In 200,000 years on Earth, humanity has upset the balance of the planet, established by nearly four billion years of evolution.  The price to pay is high as humankind has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of the Earth’s riches and change its patterns of consumption.  Following in the tradition of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, Home sets out to shift people’s perceptions, inspire action and lay a foundation for the edifice that must be rebuilt.

More than a movie, Home will be a major event all over the globe; for the first-time ever, a film will be released in every format, including in movie theaters, on television, DVD/Blu-ray Disc and the internet, on the same day in over 50 countries to reach the widest audience possible.  Home will be available on BD for the suggested retail price of $29.99 and on DVD for $19.98.

Synopses:

Experience the wonderment of our world in a way that will enthrall, captivate and inspire you! Award-winning aerial photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand and narrator Glenn Close take you on a spectacular voyage around the world in Home, a unique film with such breathtaking imagery, you’ll want to enjoy it time and time again.

Hand-picked from the vault and meticulously restored and remastered Fritz Lang’s (Metropolis, M) classic 1941 Nazi war film, MAN HUNT, arrives on DVD for the very first time May 19 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.   Set in Nazi Germany, MAN HUNT stars OscarÒ nominee Walter Pidgeon (How Green Was My Valley, Forbidden Planet) as Captain Thorndike, an English big-game hunter who conceives the fantastic notion of stalking Adolph Hitler for sport.  With The Führer in his sight, Thorndike hesitates and debates with himself whether or not to pull the trigger, ultimately being apprehended by the Gestapo during this brief moment of reflection.  Thorndike is interrogated and tortured by Nazi officer Major Quive-Smith (George Sanders; All About Eve, Hangover Square).  Left for dead, his body thrown over a cliff, Thorndike survives and makes his way back to the safety of England.  But Quive-Smith pursues Thorndike back to London, where he goes into hiding with a young prostitute (Joan Benett; The Woman in the Window, Scarlet Street) who has the Nazi spies close in on him.  Best known for his groundbreaking silent films and contributions to the Film Noir genre and dubbed “The Master of Darkness” by the British Film Institute, MAN HUNT is Lang’s first anti-Nazi feature.   Loaded with commentary by author Patrick McGilligan, “Rogue Male: The Making of Man Hunt” and more, the MAN HUNT DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $14.98 U.S. / $16.98 Canada.  Prebook is April 22.

RETURN OF THE ‘SCHWARTZ’

Mel Brook’s Hilarious ‘Star Wars’ Spoof
Arrives As Blu-ray + DVD Combo Packed With Special Features
June 16 From MGM Home Entertainment,

Also Debuting “Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures” On DVD
Featuring All-New Cartoon Parodies Of Film And TV From Comic Genius Brooks

CENTURY CITY, Calif. – The Spaceballs saga continues at ludicrous speed as the fan-favorite classic comedy arrives on a Blu-ray + DVD Combo and the all-new wildly funny Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures debut on DVD June 16 from MGM Home Entertainment.  Directed, written by and starring Academy AwardÒ winner Mel Brooks* (The Producers), as well as John Candy (Uncle Buck), Rick Moranis (Honey, I Shrunk the Kids), Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Daphne Zuniga (“One Tree Hill”) and Joan Rivers (Shrek 2), the original sci-fi-fueled satire, Spaceballs, lampoons everything from Star Wars and Alien to Star Trek and Planet of the Apes.  The film follows fearless – and clueless – space heroes Lone Starr (Pullman) and his man-dog hybrid, sidekick Barf (Candy) as they wage interstellar warfare to free Princess Vespa (Zuniga) from the evil clutches of Dark Helmet (Moranis).

Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures includes a collection of all-new satiric adventures directed by Brooks.  Originally airing on G4, the series of shorts reunites the original characters in animated form while mocking even more popular films and television series, including The Lord of the Rings, Spider Man, The Pirates of the Caribbean, “American Idol,” and more.  Returning to voice the series are the immortally brilliant Brooks, Zuniga and Rivers along with Dee Bradley Baker (“American Dad!”).

Featuring an array of bonus features, including “Film Flubs,” commentary by Brooks, documentaries, featurettes, interviews and galleries, the Spaceballs Blu-ray + DVD Combo will be available for the suggested retail price of $29.99 U.S. / $32.99 Canada.  The Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures DVD includes four full episodes as well as “intermissions” and will be available for $19.98 U.S. / $21.98 Canada.

*1969: Best Writing, Story and Screenplay - Written Directly for the Screen, The Producers

Synopses:

Spaceballs

When the Dark Helmet (Moranis) attempts to steal all the air from Planet Druidia, a determined Druish Princess (Zuniga), a clueless rogue (Pullman) and a half-man/half-dog creature who’s his own best friend (Candy) set out to stop him!  But with the forces of darkness closing in, they’ll need the help of a wise imp named Yogurt (Brooks) and the mystical power of the “Schwartz” to bring peace – and merchandising rights – to the entire galaxy!

Spaceballs: The Totally-Warped Adventures:

The animated version of the wildly successful comedic film hilariously spoofs popular movies and television shows as only the warped mind of Mel Brooks can do.  Taking place in the futuristic world of Planet Spaceball, and with returning characters from the original film, including President Skroob and Yogurt (voiced by Brooks), the show satirizes popular titles including The Lord of the Rings, Spider Man, The Terminator, The Pirates of the Caribbean and “American Idol” with light-hearted parody and slapstick comedy.

CENTURY CITY, Calif. – Few stories have captured a significant historical experience and continue to make an impact to this day than The Diary of Anne Frank.  On June 16, 2009, four days after what would have been Anne Frank’s 80th birthday, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release a 50th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray (BD) and DVD of the cinematic classic based on the young Jewish girl’s experience during the Holocaust.  The diary which has sold more than 31 million copies, has been translated into 67 languages, is still taught in schools around the world, and arguably one of the key texts of the twentieth century, inspired two-time Academy Award® winning Director George Stevens (Best Director, Giant, A Place in the Sun) to start a dialog with Anne’s father Otto Frank that led to the making of this three-time Academy Award winning film.  Starring Millie Perkins (Wall Street), OscarÒ winner Joseph Schildkraut (Best Supporting Actor, The Life of Emile Zola), two-time Academy Award winner Shelley Winters (Best Supporting Actress, A Patch of Blue), Richard Beymer (West Side Story) and Diane Baker (The Prize), The Diary of Anne Frank chronicles the lives of two Jewish families from 1942 to 1944 hiding from the Nazis.  Cramped in a tiny Amsterdam attic for two years, Anne and seven others struggle to survive as sirens in the street below constantly reminded them that Hitler’s army was waiting.

To mark the 50th Anniversary, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has worked closely with George Stevens Jr. to create The Diary of Anne Frank 50th Anniversary Edition BD and DVD which includes all-new bonus features that talk to the film’s cinematic history, the letters that were shared between George Stevens and his son during the making of the film, a reflection by the film’s surviving stars and more.  It will be available on standard DVD for the suggested retail price of  $19.98 U.S. / $21.98 Canada and on Blu-ray Disc for $34.99 U.S., $37.99 Canada.  Prebook is May 20.

Synopsis:

With compelling performances from an all-star cast, including Shelley Winters, Ed Wynn, Richard Beymer and Lou Jacobi, The Diary of Anne Frank is as gripping and heart-wrenching now as it was during its initial release!  In honor of the film’s 50th Anniversary, this Special Edition DVD offers an unprecedented look at the making of the film with an audio commentary, seven exclusive featurettes, photo galleries and more!

Following the Nazi invasion of Amsterdam, 13-year-old Anne and her family go into hiding in the confines of an attic.  Anne’s remarkable account of their lives, their growing fear of discovery, their deplorable living conditions and even the blooming of her first love are intimately portrayed in this extraordinary portrait of humanity.  Nominated for eight 1959 Oscars® and winning three, The Diary of Anne Frank remains one of cinema’s most astounding and enduring treasures.

*Won: Best Supporting Actress (Winters), Art Direction-Set Decoration, Black-and-White and Cinematography, Black-and-White.  Nominated: Best Picture and Director (Stevens), Best Supporting Actor (Ed Wynn), Best Costume Design, Black-and-White, Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Relive unforgettable comedies and intense thrillers when Big, There’s Something About Mary, Force 10 From Navarone, Lions For Lambs, To Live And Die In L.A, Predator 2 and The Siege make their compelling high-definition debut on Blu-ray Disc (BD) from Twentieth Century Fox and MGM and Home Entertainment.

Big, the Academy Award®-nominated* fantasy-comedy about a boy who makes a wish "to be big" is now larger than ever in high definition as it debuts on Blu-ray Disc May 5 from Fox Home Entertainment.  At a carnival, young Josh Baskin (Tom Hanks; Cast Away) wishes he was big – only to awake the next morning and discover he is!  With the help of his best friend Billy (Jared Rushton; Honey, I Shrunk the Kids), Josh lands a job at a toy company.  But the more he experiences being an adult, the more Josh longs for the simple joys of childhood.

Directed by the Farrelly Brothers, (Dumb & Dumber) There’s Something About Mary stars Ben Stiller (Night at the Museum), Cameron Diaz (In Her Shoes) and Matt Dillon (Crash), in a hilarious love triangle debuting on Blu-ray Disc May 5 from Fox Home Entertainment.  The romantic comedy and gross-out film made over $369 million worldwide and went on to become one of the most successful R-rated comedy films in box office history.  Ted (Stiller) is still in love with his high school prom date, Mary (Diaz), even though it's been years after the humiliating incident that cut their date short.  Ted hires Pat, a private detective (Dillon) to track her down, but Pat ends up falling in love with her too, starting a comedic battle for Mary's heart.

Robert Shaw (The Deep, Jaws) and Harrison Ford (The Fugitive, Air Force One) star as fearless World War II commandos in Force 10 From Navarone, the thrilling follow-up to The Guns of Navarone debuting on Blu-ray Disc May 12 from MGM Home Entertainment.  Directed by Guy Hamilton (Goldfinger) and adapted to the screen by Robin Chapman (screenplay) and Academy Award®-winner** Carl Foreman (screen story), it's a large-scale action-adventure saga with "remarkable special effects" (Los Angeles Times), a powerful cast and "one hair-breadth escape after another" (Newsweek).  In the darkest days of World War II, Hitler's armies are storming through Europe, annihilating all opposition in their path.  But U.S. Colonel Barnsby (Ford) plots to strike a crippling blow to the brutal Nazi forces.  To succeed, he'll need the help of the most skilled and lethal soldiers in the world: the Force 10 squad, fresh from its triumphant mission at Navarone.

Academy Awardâ-winning*** director Robert Redford (Quiz Show) presents a “significant and entertaining, thought-provoking” (Janos Gereben, San Francisco Examiner) thriller that examines the news and politics of a nation divided when Lions For Lambs arrives on Blu-ray Disc May 12 from MGM Home Entertainment. Featuring “on-the-mark performances” (Larry King) from Redford, Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada) and Tom Cruise (Valkyrie) and an “insightful and provocative” (Carla Meyer, Sacramento Bee) script by newcomer Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom), Lions For Lambs is “a wake-up call” (Pete Hammond, Maxim) that illustrates the impact that Americans have on each other and the world.

William L. Petersen (Manhunter, “CSI”) and Oscar® nominee**** Willem Dafoe (The Boondock Saints, Spider-Man) face off in a deadly game of cat and mouse in To Live And Die In L.A, a “riveting” (The New York Times) action-thriller from Academy Award®-winning***** director William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist).  Full of flash, style and grit, this raw tale of corruption and revenge features one of the most harrowing car chases ever captured on film and a shockingly explosive ending.  Federal Agent Richard Chance (Petersen) has a score to settle, and he’s through playing by the rules.  Whether that means blackmailing a beautiful parolee, disobeying direct orders or hurtling the wrong way down a crowded freeway, he vows to take down a murderous counterfeiter (Dafoe) by any means necessary.  But as the stakes grow higher, will Chance’s obsession with vengeance ultimately destroy him?

The electrifying action sequel Predator 2 unleashes the deadly invisible alien in another jungle – the urban jungle of Los Angeles.  Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon, The Color Purple) stars as a lieutenant who mistakenly concludes that mangled bodies found by the police are the work of feuding gangs.  Instead, he finds himself confronting a savage alien who has come from a distant world to hunt humans for sport.  Gary Busey (Point Break, The Firm) co-stars in this suspense-packed, high-tech thriller.

A crowded city bus blows up in Brooklyn and a campaign of terror begins to make its bloody mark on the streets of New York in The Siege.  Oscar® winner****** Denzel Washington (Malcolm X, Training Day) and Emmy® winner******* Bruce Willis (Die Hard, Pulp Fiction) star as FBI special agent Anthony “Hub” Hubbard and U.S. Army General William Devereaux, two men who must find out who’s responsible and put an end to the destruction.  Together, they face explosive danger at every turn when they team up to wage an all-out war against a ruthless band of terrorists.

CENTURY CITY, CASlumdog Millionaire, this year’s critical darling about a young boy from the slums of Mumbai who discovers love and fortune, arrives on Blu-ray Disc With Digital Copy and DVD March 31st from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.  Garnering top honors at the 2009 Academy Awardsâ* including Best Picture – Christian Colson, Best Director – Danny Boyle, Best Original Score – A. R. Rahman, Best Original Song – A. R. Rahman and Sampooran Singh Gulzar for “Jai Ho,” and Best Adapted Screenplay – Simon Beaufoy, Slumdog Millionaire also won four Golden Globe Awardsâ including Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director – Danny Boyle, Best Original Score – A. R. Rahman and Best Adapted Screenplay – Simon Beaufoy, and seven BAFTAâ Film Awards** including Best Film – Christian Colson, Best Director – Danny Boyle, Best Music – A. R. Rahman and Best Adapted Screenplay – Simon Beaufoy.

“A gaudy, gorgeous rush of color, sound and motion” (Manohla Dargis, New York Times), Slumdog Millionaire is loosely based on the fictional novel “Q and A” by Indian writer Vikas Swarup, which tracks the life of Jamal Malik, an impoverished child living in Mumbai’s sprawling slums.  After losing his mother, Jamal (played as a teen by Dev Patel) and his brother Salim (played as a teen by Madhur Mittal) must do whatever necessary to survive.  Jamal’s travels are filled with memorable encounters, good and bad, but along the way he meets another orphan child, Latika (played as a teen by Freida Pinto).  When Jamal and Latika become separated, he becomes romantically determined to reunite with Latika… even if it means appearing on the Indian version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”  Jamal begins drawing on his past experiences to answer the questions that will inevitably lead him to vast wealth and lost love.  But after lasting longer than anyone ever expected, Jamal is accused of cheating and must prove to the police and the show’s producers how he knows the answers by retelling his arduous childhood in a series of flashbacks.  Providing a glimpse into the tough existence of homeless children in Mumbai while juxtaposing optimism and love, director Danny Boyle’s (Trainspotting, Millions) “beautifully rendered and energetic tale celebrates resilience, the power of knowledge and the vitality of the human experience” (Claudia Puig, USA Today).  Featuring heartfelt performances by a largely Indian cast, Slumdog Millionaire stars Dev Patel (Skins), Freida Pinto, Madhur Mittal (Say Salaam India), Irrfan Khan (The Namesake, Haasil) and Anil Kapoor (Taal, Pukar).  Boasting a memorable and flawless soundtrack that blends modern and traditional Indian music by acclaimed Indian composer A. R. Rahman (Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India, Taal), Slumdog Millionaire also features tracks from artist M.I.A. including the Grammyâ nominated song for Record of the Year “Paper Planes.”  Special features include commentary by director Danny Boyle, star Dev Patel, writer Simon Beaufoy and producer Christian Colson, behind-the scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, and more.  The Slumdog Millionaire Blu-ray Disc with Digital Copy will be available for $39.98 U.S. / $49.99 Canada; the DVD will be available for $29.98 U.S. / $43.48 Canada.  Prebook date is 03/04/09.

Synopsis

Jamal Malik (Patel), an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika (Pinto), the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of Jamal's increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the show's seemingly impossible questions. But one question remains a mystery: what is this young man with no apparent desire for riches really doing on the game show? When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out. At the heart of its exuberant storytelling lies the intriguing question of how anyone comes to know the things they know about life and love.

 – Ben Lyons, “At The Movies”

CENTURY CITY, CA – The life and death of one of hip-hop’s most powerful and iconic MCs is captured in the hard-hitting and controversial biopic NOTORIOUS, arriving on Unrated Director’s Cut and Unrated Director’s Cut Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray and DVD April 21 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.  Through raw talent and sheer determination, East Coast rapper Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace went from Brooklyn street hustler to one of the greatest rappers of all time – The Notorious B.I.G. – refusing to succumb to expectations and redefining the notion of “The American Dream.” Twelve years since the rapper’s unfortunate death, NOTORIOUS follows his meteoric rise to fame and provides a rare glimpse at a different side of the acclaimed artist – from his surprising youth as a Catholic school honor student, to an imprisoned drug dealer, to the hip hop sensation he has become today.  Featuring a performance from Wallace’s real-life son, Christopher Jordan Wallace, NOTORIOUS also uncovers the complicated relationships in the rapper’s life, including protégé Kimberly “Lil’ Kim” Jones, wife-and-R&B singer Faith Evans and long-time friend-turned-rival Tupac Shakur, examining the struggle, music and triumph of game-changer Christopher Wallace, who became one of the most celebrated hip-hop icons in history.

Hailed as “the greatest rapper of all time” (The Source), “The Notorious B.I.G.” has sold over 15 million albums and in 2006 was ranked at #3 in MTV’s “The Greatest MC’s of All Time.”  Directed by George Tillman, Jr. (Soul Food, Men of Honor) and produced with the help off Wayne Barrow (B.I.G.’s former manager), Voletta Wallace (mother of Christopher Wallace) and executive produced by music impresario Sean “Puffy” Combs, NOTORIOUS features “knockout” (Rolling Stone) performances from an ensemble cast including Golden Globeâ winner* Angela Bassett (Waiting To Exhale) as Voletta, Brooklyn rapper Jamal Woolard as Notorious B.I.G., Derek Luke (Lions For Lambs) as Sean “Puffy” Combs, Anthony Mackie (8 Mile) as Tupac Shakur and Naturi Naughton as Lil’ Kim.

Featuring over 90 minutes of bonus material, the NOTORIOUS Unrated Director’s Cut Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray and DVD are both highlighted by an Unrated Extended Cut of the film and include, behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, never-before-seen footage of the real B.I.G., film maker commentaries, Digital Copy and more.  The Unrated Director’s Cut Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $39.99 U.S. / $49.99 Canada and $34.98 U.S. / $45.98 Canada, respectively.  A single-disc DVD will also be available for the suggested retail price of $29.98 U.S..  Prebook is March 25.
