Television comes “Shark Tank,” an exciting new reality show that gives budding entrepreneurs the

chance to make their dreams come true and become successful – and possibly wealthy – business

people. But the entrepreneurs must first try to convince five tough, multi-millionaire tycoons to part

with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they need to jumpstart their ideas.

In these trying economic times, it’s difficult for an individual possessing a dream or even a working

small business poised for growth to get a loan for a risky venture. Whether it be an imaginative

enhancement for an existing product, a family recipe that has all the ingredients to become a profitable

culinary treat, or the latest technological gadget that could take the world by storm, most of these

dreams die an early death because no one dared take a financial chance on someone with an unproven

and oftentimes outrageous proposal. Many of these people now see “Shark Tank” as their last chance at

success. Some have been laboring on their ideas for years or even decades, have invested large amounts

of money, and are being pressured to throw in the towel by friends and family. Others have simply never

had access to the means to live out their dreams, until now.

Enter the Sharks of “Shark Tank” – Barbara Corcoran (Manhattan real estate titan), Kevin Harrington

(king of infomercials), Robert Herjavec (technology tycoon), Daymond John (fashion mogul) and Kevin

O'Leary (venture capitalist) – five multi-millionaires who lifted themselves up by their bootstraps to

make their own entrepreneurial dreams come true and turned their ideas into empires.

Each week ambitious entrepreneurs from across the country will present their breakthrough business

concepts, products, properties and services to the panel of ruthless investors. Their goal is to convince

these merciless moguls to invest their own dollars in the concept. Convincing real-life millionaires to

part with their own money is no easy task, because when the idea is poor, the Sharks will tear into the

ill-prepared presenters and pass on the idea with a simple, “I’m out!” -- sending them running for the

exit.

But these Sharks aren’t just out for blood, they too have a goal: to own a piece of the next big idea.

Entrepreneurs will be asked to give up a percentage of their companies’ equity to the Sharks in order to

get the investment they need. But when the Sharks hear a really top-notch idea, and more than one of

them wants to sink their teeth into it, a war between them will erupt. Then the once-desperate

entrepreneur can rejoice when the Sharks reveal their true interest in the product and bid up the price

of the investment.

invention too unorthodox for Veridian. Need cow-less meat grown in a test tube? Done. Need pumpkins

that also double as weapons of mass destruction? No problem. Ted’s a single dad to a seven-year-old

girl, and he loves his job, but he’s starting to take a closer look at the company’s extremely dubious

practices. Do you manufacture the best teeth whitener ever if it could also kill off all of the planet’s fish?

Probably not, but...

Ted’s also fighting an attraction to co-worker Linda, who enjoys small acts of rebellion against Veridian

(she’s secretly stealing and hoarding all the company’s creamer packets). But he holds back about his

true feelings. He’s already had his self imposed “one office affair” with überboss Veronica. Incredibly

beautiful (if seemingly devoid of conscience and also emotion-free), Veronica lets nothing get in her way

when it comes to serving Veridian’s needs… even if it means doing something like cryogenically freezing

an employee for testing purposes. And after all, the employee, research scientist Phil, survived (after he

thawed out). So what if he screams like an eagle at the slightest provocation? He and his best friend,

fellow research scientist Lem, are both geniuses and when they’re not bickering, they’re responsible for

many of Veridian’s miracles of weird science.

“Better Off Ted” stars Jay Harrington as Ted, Portia de Rossi as Veronica, Andrea Anders as Linda,

Jonathan Slavin as Phil, Malcolm Barrett as Lem and Isabella Acres as Rose.

“Better Off Ted” is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television. Victor Fresco (“My Name Is Earl,”

“Andy Richter Controls the Universe”) is executive producer and creator of the series.

“SCRUBS”

This irreverent and offbeat comedy received two consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding

Comedy Series in 2005 and 2006, and was named TV.com’s “Best of 2007” in Comedy.

challenges in his personal and professional life trying to balance his roles as doctor, father to Sam,

devoted live-in boyfriend and friend to his very quirky companions at Sacred Heart.

received a total of 16 Emmy nominations, and it won an Emmy for Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture

“EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION”

Put together one very run-down house, a deserving family, several opinionated designers, seven days

and what do you get? The answer is “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The show has won two Emmy

Awards for Outstanding Reality Program, plus the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Reality

Show/Makeover and the Family Television Award for Best Alternative/Reality Program. Each episode is

self-contained and features a race against time on a project that would ordinarily take at least four

months to achieve, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have

just seven days to totally rebuild an entire house – every single room, plus the exterior and landscaping.

The lives of the lucky families are forever changed when they learn that they’ve been selected to have

their home walls moved, their floors replaced and even their facades radically changed. The result

should be a decorator’s delight… if it can be done in time.

The design team includes team leader Ty Pennington, with designers Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis,

Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, Tracy Hutson, Eduardo Xol, John Littlefield, Rib Hillis and Didiayer

Snyder.

“SUPERNANNY”

“Supernanny” is in its fifth season with Jo Frost criss-crossing America, taking on some of its toughest

parenting challenges. She can tame the wildest toddler, soothe the savage six-year-old and get the most

difficult child to overcome problems with behavior, sleep, mealtime, potty training and other

challenges that have vexed parents around the world for centuries. The series debuted in America in

early 2005 and captivated the country with Jo’s practical, no-nonsense style, honed over 20 years of

nannying. “Supernanny” is now an international phenomenon; it airs in 172 territories, almost all of

them with Frost as Supernanny. The series has been nominated for a People’s Choice Award.

Nick Powell is the creator and executive producer of both the American and British versions of the

show. Nick Emmerson and Stephanie Schwam are executive producers of the American version.

“TRUE BEAUTY”

What makes a person truly beautiful? From executive producers Tyra Banks (“The Tyra Banks Show,”

“America’s Next Top Model”) and Ashton Kutcher (executive producer of “Punk’d” and “Beauty and the

Geek”), beauty is redefined in the popular ABC series “True Beauty.”

Gorgeous female and handsome male contestants assume they’re being judged solely on their outer

appearance, but they’re only half right; outer beauty is just one component the judges are looking for.

Contestants, unbeknownst to them, are also being evaluated for their INNER beauty as they’re tested in

challenging situations that require them to make moral decisions.

Each episode will showcase an outer beauty and an inner beauty challenge, during which contestants

will be judged on everything from how well they perform in photo shoots to how well they respect their

elders. The three judges will observe and critique the contestants’ behavior and eliminate one person

each week. Only after someone is eliminated will the truth about the show be revealed to him/her, as

they watch a video montage of their behavior captured by a hidden camera during the shoot. At the end

of eight episodes, one winner will be declared, a person who is truly beautiful inside and out. That

person will receive a cash prize and a spot in PEOPLE magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People issue.

Executive producers of “True Beauty” are Denise Cramsey (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”), Tyra

Banks and Laura Armstrong for Bankable Productions, and Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg, Karey

Burke and Rod Aissa for Katalyst Productions. The series is a production of Warner Horizon Television.

“WIFE SWAP”

Each week two very contradictory families from across the country participate in a two-week-long

challenge: The wives exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover daily life in

another woman’s shoes. This astonishing experiment repeatedly changes lives and redefines families.

In the first week of the swap, the wives move in and adopt their new family’s lifestyle, no matter how

different it may be. They agree to follow a manual written by the departing wife that sets out the rules of

their new household – how they parent, shop, do the house work, manage their budgets and their social

life. In the second week, everything changes. The new wives take charge. They introduce their own set of

rules and get to run the new household their way. It’s a radical shock to both families. The results are

explosive, enlightening, emotional and often comical.

At the end of the show, the two couples meet for the first time. In a highly-charged exchange of views,

both couples make a frank assessment of each other and talk about what they’ve learned from the

experience.

“Wife Swap” is an RDF USA production. The show was created by Stephen Lambert and is executiveproduced

by Mike Gamson, and Michael Davies of Embassy Row (“Who Wants to be a Millionaire”). Neil

Regan, Julie Cooper and Will Nothacker are co-executive producers.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 17 -- ABC heads to Nashville to take you to the hottest music event, "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock." Reigning CMA Horizon Award winner Taylor Swift, former "American Idol" finalist Kellie Pickler and Country Music Star/"Dancing with the Stars" champion Julianne Hough host the special airing Monday, September 8 (9:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Filmed in Nashville June 5-8, the special features performances by some of today's most exciting Country Music sensations in a four-day party and music celebration: Trace Adkins, Rodney Atkins, Bucky Covington, Billy Ray Cyrus, Faith Hill, Julianne Hough, Alan Jackson, Jewel, Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson and Dwight Yoakam.

In addition to exciting, never-before-televised music performances, viewers will also get the ultimate Country Music fan experience firsthand. In exclusively shot segments for the special, the cameras capture the Festival's behind the scenes moments between the artist and their fans and follow the stories of several passionate Country Music fans at the festival. Bucky Covington acts as tour guide around the massive CMA Music Festival and shows the festival experience through his eyes. John Rich of Big & Rich tells us how Gretchen Wilson went from bartender to singer at Nashville's legendary honky tonks, while Taylor Swift sings in an impromptu street performance and signs autographs at the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall. Meanwhile, certain fans are surprised to learn that they've been chosen for a "lucky day" meet and greet with their favorite Country star; Kellie Pickler spends some time with Nick Manciero from Bethany, Conn., Rob Levasseur from East Hartford, Conn. and Dan Orlowski from Woodbridge, Conn.; Faith Hill surprises her biggest fans Juliette Warren and David Newton from Australia and Keith Urban meets Alex Hamel, Stephanie Hayward, and Cara Corbett from Toledo, Ohio. Finally, Sarah and Elizabeth Marince, two young aspiring artists from Pittsburgh, Penn., take a trip with Julianne Hough to her recording studio, which turns into a "girl's day out" for the three of them.

The longest running network television series in primetime history, "The Wonderful World of Disney" originally began in 1954 as a primetime feature hosted by Walt Disney himself as a showcase for original programming from The Walt Disney Studios, including feature films, original made-for-television movies, cartoons, documentaries and educational shorts. “OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS”

“Opportunity Knocks” is a new show that breaks the mold of typical game and reality shows. We will

be showing up on America’s doorstep and testing how well they know their family. Our mobile team

will arrive at “Anywhere, America” in a semi-truck that is full of flat screen TVs, new furniture and big

cash prizes that the family can win right there. We will take the action of a game show directly into our

contestants’ homes, setting up shop in a family’s front lawn. The instant our host, JD Roth, knocks on

the front door, the game will begin. Hollywood will invade a suburban neighborhood, and each week

one lucky family will play the game of a lifetime in front of all their friends and neighbors.

The host poses trivia questions to family members based directly on their lives, each other and articles

found in and around their home. If they’re able to prove they know their family inside and out, they’ll

win the prizes of their dreams.

Executive producers for “Opportunity Knocks” are Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg, Karey Burke, J.D.

“PUSHING DAISIES”

From Bryan Fuller (“Heroes,” “Wonderfalls”) and Barry Sonnenfeld (“Men in Black”) comes a series

with an unprecedented blend of romance, fantasy and mystery, “Pushing Daisies,” a forensic fairytale

about Ned, a young man with a very special gift. As a young boy Ned discovers that he can return the

dead briefly back to life with just one touch. But his random gift isn’t without deadly consequences… as

he soon finds out. In its first season, this critically-acclaimed series received three Golden Globe

nominations.

Golden Globe nominee Lee Pace (“The Good Shepherd,” “Soldier’s Girl”), Golden Globe nominee

Anna Friel ( the upcoming “Land of the Lost,” “Rogue Trader”), Chi McBride (“The Nine,” “Boston

Public”), Tony nominee Ellen Greene (“Little Shop of Horrors”), Emmy and Tony winner Swoosie Kurtz

(“Huff,” “Sisters”) and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth (“The West Wing”) star in the visually stunning

series from the Jinks/Cohen Company, in association with Warner Bros. Television. Tony winner Jim

Dale, reader of the “Harry Potter” series of audio books, is the narrator.

In addition to Fuller and Sonnenfeld, Dan Jinks & Bruce Cohen (Academy Award winning producers of

“American Beauty”) and Peter Ocko serve as executive producers.

“UGLY BETTY”

In the superficial world of high fashion, image is everything. Styles come and go, and the only constants

are the super thin beauties who wear them. How can an ordinary girl from Queens possibly fit in?

If you took a moment to get to know Betty Suarez, you’d see how sweet, intelligent and hard-working

she is (if a bit fashion-challenged). When publishing mogul Bradford Meade handed the reigns of Mode,

the bible of the fashion industry, over to this son, Daniel, he specifically hired Betty as his son’s new

assistant – mostly because she was the only woman Daniel wouldn’t sleep with. Both outsiders in their

own way, Daniel and Betty form an unlikely team, each helping the other navigate the choppy waters

of NYC’s fashion scene.

“Ugly Betty” stars America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade, Tony Plana as

Ignacio, Ana Ortiz as Hilda, Ashley Jensen as Christina, Becki Newton as Amanda, Mark Indelicato as

Justin, Michael Urie as Marc, Judith Light as Claire Meade, Christopher Gorham as Henry, Rebecca

Romijn as Alexis and Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater. Freddy Rodriguez is a recurring guest star

as Gio. Lindsay Lohan will appear in a five-episode arc as Kimberly.

Based on “Yo Soy Betty La Fea,” the groundbreaking Colombian telenovela that became an

international phenomenon, “Ugly Betty” is from ABC Studios. This past two seasons the series has been

awarded three Emmy Awards, two GLAAD Awards, as well as Golden Globe, Peabody, DGA, NAACP,

ALMA, CDG and Imagen Awards. Academy Award-nominee and Emmy Award winner Salma Hayek is

executive producer, along with Jose Tamez (“The Maldonado Miracle”), Silvio Horta (“Urban Legend”)

and Joel Fields (“Dirt”).

COMEDY

“SAMANTHA WHO?”

What if you had the chance to start over, to do it all again? For Samantha Newly (Christina Applegate),

this fantasy becomes a reality after a hit-and-run accident leaves her in an eight-day coma. When she

idea who they are – or who she is. In medical terms, Sam has retrograde amnesia, which allows her to

fully function in the world but leaves her with no personal memories. Most people would deem this

disorder a curse. But Sam has come to call it a miracle.

“Samantha Who?” won the People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy, and Applegate was

nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG Award for her role.

“Samantha Who?” stars Christina Applegate as Samantha, Jennifer Esposito as Andrea, Kevin Dunn as

Howard, Melissa McCarthy as Dena, Tim Russ as Frank, with Barry Watson as Todd and Jean Smart as

“SUPERNANNY”

Jo Frost criss-crosses America taking on some of its toughest parenting challenges. Hailed by the New

York Times as “fascinating” and “required viewing,” praised by Oprah Winfrey, David Letterman and

Kelly Ripa, acclaimed by such publications as Newsweek, Hollywood Reporter and The New Yorker,

and lauded by parents and nannies across America, “Supernanny” is a hit. Jo Frost, as Supernanny, can

tame the wildest toddler, soothe the most savage six-year-old and get even the most difficult child to

overcome problems with behavior, sleep, mealtime, potty training and other challenges that have vexed

parents around the world for centuries. After just three episodes of the show aired in the U.K. in

summer 2004, Jo Frost became Britain’s hottest new TV star and a godsend to desperate parents who

were dazzled by her amazing results with unruly children. She debuted in America in early 2005 and

captivated Americans as well with her practical, no-nonsense style, honed over 20 years of nannying.

“Supernanny” is now an international phenomenon; it airs in 58 territories, almost all of them with Frost

as Supernanny. The series was nominated for a People’s Choice Award, and fans loved her first two

books, Supernanny: How to Get the Best from Your Children -- a national bestseller -- and

Ask Supernanny. Her new book, Jo Frost’s Confident Baby Care: What You Need to Know for the First

Year from America’s Most Trusted Nanny, was published in May 2008.

“WIFE SWAP”

“Wife Swap,” the critically-acclaimed unscripted reality show that takes us into the intimate heart of the

American family home, revealing the extraordinarily different ways families live their lives, is currently

airing its fourth season.

Each week from across the country, two families with very different values are chosen to take part in a

two-week long challenge. The wives from these two families exchange husbands, children and lives

(but not bedrooms) to discover just what it’s like to live another woman’s life. It’s a mind-blowing

experiment that often ends up changing their lives forever.

In the first week of the swap, the wives move in with their new family and adopt their very different

lifestyle. They agree to follow a manual written by the departing wife that sets out the rules of their new

household -- how they parent, shop, do the housework, manage their budgets and their social life. But

then, in the second week, everything changes. The new wives take charge. They introduce their own

set of rules and get to run the new household their way. It’s a radical shock to both families. The results

are explosive, enlightening and often very funny. This is a show about the things that really matter to

families across America.

“THE BACHELOR”

ABC’s “The Bachelor” is the original primetime romance reality series that offers one lucky man and 25

lucky women the unique opportunity to find true love.

The new Bachelor will get to know 25 women via a series of social gatherings and exotic, romantic

dates – some in groups, some individually. He will introduce some of the women to his family, and will

visit their hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the woman with whom he is

most compatible.

The series follows a gradual process of elimination each week, until the Bachelor ultimately decides on

the one woman who has captured his heart. However, at any point along the way, should a woman

decide that she is no longer interested in him, she may reject his invitation to continue dating. At the

end of the journey, this gentleman will quite possibly have found true love. But the big question is:

After all of this, if he pops the question, will she accept?

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelor” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with

Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss, David Bohnert and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

ABC NEWS

“PRIMETIME: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?”

Using hidden cameras, “Primetime: What Would You Do?” sets up everyday scenarios and then

captures people’s reactions. Whether people are compelled to act or mind their own business, John

Quiñones reports on their split-second – and often surprising – decision-making process.

People often talk about how they think they would act in a difficult situation, but this series looks at

how they actually do in the face of everyday dilemmas that test their character and values. According

to the Columbia Journalism Review essay, “Primetime: What Would You Do?” is “the flip side of reality

TV…rather than show how people act in manufactured situations when they know they’re being

watched, they show us how people act when they don’t.”

David Sloan is the executive producer of “Primetime: What Would You Do?.” Robert Lange is the

senior producer.

Statement from ABC Regarding Recent FCC Action

“NYPD Blue, which aired on ABC from 1993 to 2005, was an Emmy Award-winning

drama, broadcast with appropriate parental warnings as well as V-chip enabled program ratings

from the time such ratings were implemented. When the brief scene in question was telecast

almost five years ago, this critically acclaimed drama had been on the air for a decade and the

realistic nature of its storylines was well known to the viewing public. ABC feels strongly that the

FCC’s finding is inconsistent with prior precedent from the Commission, the indecency statute and

the First Amendment, and we intend to oppose the proposed fine.”

MEN IN TREES

(Fridays, 10:00-11:00 p.m., E.T.)

(New time period premieres Friday, November 2 at 8:00 p.m., ET; Fridays, 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET)

In addition to getting better acquainted with the mix of eclectic characters viewers came to know on "MEN IN TREES" the first season - in the coming season there will be a wedding that doesn't happen, another that does, two divorces, one baby, a pack of angry wolves, an arctic cyclone, two "little people" and a puppy.

Amidst of all of this emotion, drama and comedy, relationship coach and New York native Marin Frist really settles in to the man-centric town of Elmo, Alaska. She starts pursuing what she thinks will make her truly happy -- a relationship and completing her book -- only to find things are far more complicated than she thought.

Marin is still reeling from Jack's engagement to Lynn (Justine Bateman), a relationship that gets far more complicated when Lynn realizes that Jack still has feelings for Marin. Marin throws herself into her writing, but is soon receiving attention from not one, but four different men. Eventually she chooses one and dives in head first, only to find that the long-awaited completion of her book, "Notes from Elmo", a project she's deeply proud of, threatens to end her relationship.

Jack struggles with his feelings for Marin, although he's engaged to Lynn. The strong and silent Jack always seems to be around when Marin needs protecting from Alaskan wildlife and, occasionally, herself. When a job offer threatens to take the fish and game biologist away from Elmo, his relationships, and a new friendship with another woman, make life even more difficult.

Marin and the sexy loner, Cash (Scott Elrod), a nomadic handyman who has helped Marin fix up her run-down cabin, have become roommates -- an arrangement that irks Jack and complicates Marin's life.

Meanwhile, the adorably affable Patrick and Annie, both still Marin's biggest fans, continue to plan their wedding. But a series of ill-fated events threaten to ruin their union. The streak of bad luck comes as no surprise to Patrick's stepmother, Mai, who predicted Patrick and Annie's union would be doomed after discovering the pair had incompatible astrological charts. Things finally reach a boiling point during a thunderstorm, and Annie and Patrick's lives are changed forever.

Marin's tough-girl New York editor, Jane, flies in for Patrick and Annie's nuptials and is reunited with her former flame, Sam (Ty Olsson). Despite Jane's resolve to be done with "Plow Guy," she can't help but react a little impulsively after seeing him -- and his wedding date.

Celia, Elmo's ever watchful Police Chief, finds that her relationship with her once-doting son, Patrick, is tested. Her boyfriend, Dick (Currie Graham), will be there to lend the emotional support that Celia so clearly needs but hates.

The wealthy Seattle-raised Ben, who runs the town's only bar, The Chieftain, throws his attention and money into a struggling hockey team he purchases. But as he gets more obsessed with winning, he pays less attention to his once-estranged wife and former rock musician Theresa. Tensions begin to mount in their home.

Buzz, who recently discovered that Patrick is his biological son, owns his own airline (one prop plane) that flies in and out of Elmo. Ben's hockey team purchase brings to light the fact that Buzz has a latent gambling problem. Buzz finds his problem re-awakened, forcing his wheeling and dealing mail-order bride, Mai, to issue the ultimatum -- it's gambling or me.

Sara, who has given up her job as the town's "working girl" to study to be an EMT, continues to pursue a relationship with Pastor Eric (Nicholas Lea). However, things get problematical when churchgoers question the nature of their relationship.

Marin has found that the inhabitants of Elmo are quite a lively bunch, and it's because of them that she has been able to open her eyes and see the amazingly beautiful world around her. For the first time, she has had the chance to stop and breathe. They all share the wish of wanting something more for themselves and the people they care about. But as the townsfolk in Elmo go about doing that, an age-old adage comes to mind: "Be careful what you wish for..."

"MEN IN TREES" stars Anne Heche as Marin Frist, Abraham Benrubi as Ben Thomasson, Emily Bergl as Annie O'Donnell, Seana Kofoed as Jane, Suleka Mathew as Sara, Derek Richardson as Patrick Bachelor, Cynthia Stevenson as Celia Bachelor, Sarah Strange as Theresa, Lauren Tom as Mai Washington, James Tupper as Jack Slattery and John Amos as Buzz Washington.

The creator and executive producer of "MEN IN TREES" is Jenny Bicks ("Sex and the City"). The series is filmed in Vancouver, Canada, and is from Perkins Street Productions and NS Pictures, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Samantha Who?

(Mondays, 9:30-10:00 p.m., E.T. )

Christina Applegate returns to network television in a comedy that offers a do-over in life.

What if you had the chance to start over, to do it all again? For Samantha Newly (Ms. Applegate), this fantasy becomes a reality after a hit-and-run accident leaves her in an eight-day coma. When she awakens in the hospital, she is surrounded by family and friends. The only problem is that she has no idea who they are - or who she is. In medical terms, Sam has retrograde amnesia, which allows her to fully function in the world but leaves her with no personal memories. Most people would deem this disorder a curse. But Sam may come to call it a miracle.

As she sets out to rediscover herself, Sam is forced to rely on the only people who can help her -- an eclectic bunch of friends and family. Although now strangers to Sam, it's not long before she begins to get an idea of who she was before the accident.

Regina (Jean Smart, "24," "Designing Women") and Howard (Kevin Dunn, "Transformers," "Dave") appear to be loving parents -- when they're not downplaying the fact that Sam hasn't spoken to them in two years. Her supposed best friend, Dena (Melissa McCarthy, "Gilmore Girls"), is sincerely supportive, until her real best friend, Andrea (Jennifer Esposito, "Crash," "Spin City"), exposes Dena as a fraud who hasn't seen or spoken to Sam since the seventh grade. Andrea is a party girl who seems to have Sam's best interests at heart. However in the midst of celebrating her return, Andrea neglects to mention that Sam's an alcoholic, is having an affair with a married man, and has a tendency for all-around morally questionable behavior. Sam's only seemingly trustworthy acquaintance is boyfriend Todd (Barry Watson, "What About Brian," "7th Heaven"). But will that trust last when he discovers that she cheated on him?

Sam quickly discovers she was a horrible person. Vain, selfish and potentially surrounded by far more enemies than friends. She makes a conscious decision to improve herself moving forward. She vows to make better choices, even though her instincts may not always steer her in the right direction. She begins with Frank (Tim Russ, "Live Free or Die Hard," "Star Trek: Voyager"), the doorman at Todd's apartment building. Sam never gave him the time of day before, but upon actually saying hello to him, she discovers an incredibly observant and unlikely confidant.

Sam will need to continue to piece together things from her past to guide her in discovering who she is... or was. After all, sometimes to get to the end of the story, the only place to start is the beginning.

"Samantha Who?" stars Christina Applegate as Samantha, Jennifer Esposito as Andrea, Kevin Dunn as Howard, Melissa McCarthy as Dena, Tim Russ as Frank with Barry Watson as Todd and Jean Smart as Regina.

"Samantha Who?" was created by Cecelia Ahern and Donald Todd. Todd and Peter Traugott serve as executive producers. "Samantha Who?," which is filmed in Los Angeles, is from ABC Studios.

Artists include 50 Cent, Beyoncé, Daughtry, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Norah Jones and The Little Willies, Miranda Lambert, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, "The Rock," Patti Scialfa and Oscar winners Three-6-Mafia.

The two-hour special will include exclusive interviews with Elvis' former wife, Priscilla Presley, and will chronicle different aspects of Elvis' life during the Las Vegas concert years. Elvis was able to reinvent himself in Las Vegas and make a comeback at a time when critics didn't think he had a chance. Viewers will see how his combination of soul and showbiz, electric rock and sex appeal became the template for performances today. His astonishing success started the practice of the long-running Vegas "residency" that Celine Dion, Prince, Cirque du Soleil and Elton John partake in today.

Elvis' Las Vegas years proved to be a time of a remarkable revival and inner conflict. When he first arrived, he basked in audience adoration powerful enough to transform the city. "Las Vegas needed a shot in the arm, and Elvis was the potion," friend, co-star and fellow Las Vegas performer Nancy Sinatra tells ABC. "He got the young people in. And the young people helped to build a new Vegas." But as time went on and Elvis performed the same songs show after show, night after night, Priscilla Presley tells Vargas that he was "like a stallion caged in a tiny stall."

Frustrated by a lack of new creative challenges, Elvis reportedly told one of his backup singers that he thought no one would ever remember him. "That's incredible," says three-time Oscar nominee, film director David Lynch. "Elvis swims in our minds, and in the emotions all through time." And Matchbox 20 lead singer Rob Thomas adds: "Elvis set the world on fire... if you're a rock and roll musician, the music you're making, you wouldn't be making it if Elvis wasn't there to open those doors, and not just open -- kick them open."

A companion soundtrack from SONY BMG Music Entertainment, "Elvis: Viva Las Vegas," is currently in stores and features music from and inspired by the ABC television special.

"Elvis: Viva Las Vegas" is produced by ABC's Lincoln Square Productions and Elvis Viva LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. Rudy Bednar is co-executive producer for Lincoln Square Productions. David Saltz is co-executive producer for Elvis Viva LLC.

While continuing to be schooled in royal protocol, her life is suddenly thrown into upheaval as she learns that she'll not only have to become Queen sooner than expected, she'll also have to get married -- for an unmarried woman cannot be Queen of Genovia. With her fantasies of a fairy tale wedding now seriously threatened, Mia realizes that the only way to prevent Genovia from falling into the scheming hands of Viscount Mabrey -- who wants his nephew, Nicholas Devereaux, crowned King -- is to acquiesce to an arranged marriage.
