Patrick Long (#45-GT Porsche 911 GT3 RSR) “It was an interesting strategy. The strategy was just to protect the car and not get into the barn burning racing that the GT class has progressed to. We tried to stay out of it,and hope the officials would tone it down. I'm pretty upset with how it went at the end. I'm hoping we can get
back to racing at Road Atlanta. I didn't believe in luck in racing until this year. Now I know we make a our own luck. Laguna is usually good to us, and so is Petit, so we're going to start coming out swinging and be ready for next year. There was door banging and taking each other to the wall within the first hour. Thomas Blum was
leading us on the radio and he just said lets keep the steering wheel straight and stay out of us and it will come to us. Joerg kept that and was able to pull out a successful finish at the end. You learn a lot about yourself when the chips are down, it will be a great boost for the team, regardless of what happens at Petit. So we'll go into Petit and stay out of trouble and hopefully we can pounce right there at the end. The middle stint fighting Joey for 2 stints and Bill for the other was really fun and difficult. I think Joey raced me really clean and fair and fun. We were hoping to get that with the 62. Joey was racing for a championship so knew what to do. We even had Ollie (Gavin) racing right there with us, it was a great race drive there.”

John Doonan, Director of Motorsports, Mazda North American Operations, "It's a very special day when you can win three championships (driver, team, and manufacturer) at your home track on the same day. We're thrilled for Chris and Guy,and the entire Dyson team, and appreciative of the countless hours of hard work and effort from everyone at Mazda, Dyson Racing, and AER. This was the first IMSA manufacturers championship for Mazda since the RX-7 won the GTO title 20 years ago. The Mazda battle cry of 'Never Give Up' rang loud today."

Next stop: Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in less than 2 week.
