Broadcasters say "enough already" with spectrum attack
The proposal by the Federal Communications Commission to hold an incentive auction of broadcast spectrum could have a "catastrophic" impact on stations that would be repacked into the more crowded remaining spectrum, said NAB chief Gordon Smith. "We're extremely nervous about an FCC that apparently feels that broadcast is yesterday and broadband is tomorrow, that we're dinosaurs and the others ought to survive," Smith said

Detroit could lose its local TV outlets under spectrum plan: The plan to repurpose broadcast spectrum for broadband could leave Detroit with no local broadcast outlets, because the Motor City would be competing for the limited remaining spectrum with Canadian locations, according to the NAB. Such an outcome would mean that "there's no more broadcast TV in Detroit. There's no place for them to go," said NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith

One spectrum auction would be more than enough, group says
Mobile providers should only be allowed to reap the spectrum benefits from one auction and should be forced to give up tax breaks benefiting the large companies that dominate the wireless industry, according to The Coalition For Free TV and Broadband. "The members of CTIA are asking Congress to confiscate the free airwaves and allow them to buy it with taxpayer money they got through loopholes they spent millions lobbying the same Congress to get. Then they will turn around and charge the American public for the privilege of using the spectrum that they paid for through their tax dollars," said coalition spokesperson Lee Miller.

Costs at 3D Movie Theaters Keep Rising, But What About Quality?

That means the cost of those glasses — which The Wrap estimates hits about $5 million for a $100-million release — has to be picked up by the exhibitors. That puts theaters in a tough spot

505 GAMES’ SUPREMACY MMA™ AVAILABLE TODAY IN NORTH AMERICA

Gamers Can Now Get Their Hands on the Most Brutal Underground Mixed Martial Arts Fighting Game Ever

Global videogame publisher 505 Games and developer Kung Fu Factory today announced that their brutal, no-holds barred approach to the mixed martial arts genre, Supremacy MMA™, is now available in North America for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

Supremacy MMA brings the brutality of unsanctioned, amateur and unlicensed MMA fighting to videogame fans that can follow the rise of several fighters and their individual stories as they work toward supremacy. Created in a fast-paced arcade style, the game gives players the opportunity to stylistically dispatch their opponents by choosing from a cadre of hardcore fighters, each with a unique MMA style. Fans master their abilities to perfectly execute fantastic fight sequences and become invincible in every match-up with a dizzying array of kicks, gravity defying moves and brutal finishing blows.

Supremacy MMA is armed with arcade-like speed and real in-game fighters such as former UFC champ Jens Pulver and K1 kickboxing legend Jerome Le Banner, as well as the first female fighters in an MMA game, Felice Herrig and Michele Gutierrez.

“The Kung Fu Factory team is excited to offer a new level of strategy, fun fast combat and true-to-the-sport brutality in an MMA game,” said Ricci Rukavina, director at Kung Fu Factory.
