Wienerschnitzel Celebrates 50 Years Today
On this day 50 years ago, Der Wienerschnitzel opened with $0.18 hot dogs and french fries. In celebration, their original chili, kraut and mustard dogs are $0.61 for their beginning in 1961.

Freeway Opens Carmageddon Lingers
The 405 freeway is open with smooth sailing between the 10 and 101 freeways. The much anticipated traffic nightmares never happened. Reminiscent of the Los Angeles Olympics, everyone stayed home and away, much to the unhappiness of local businesses.
