Announcing the Nominees & Honorees for the 2007 LA Fashion Awards Presented by Saturn

Nominations and special honors for the 2007 Los Angeles Fashion Awards were announced last night at a poolside reception at The Standard Hotel in West Hollywood co-hosted by Los Angeles Times IMAGE. The names were read in front of a VIP audience of current and previous nominees, honorees, nominating committee members, winners, press and special guests who listened as they sipped fresh mojitos, courtesy of 10 Cane rum.
Those selected for recognition this year include a dynamic mix of rising star innovators and globally recognized leaders that shape the energy, creativity and influence of California fashion and Los Angeles as a global fashion center. Selections were made at the recommendation of a stellar Nominating Committee comprised of more than forty editors, stylists, retailers, designers and industry experts with a keen understanding of the fashion marketplace. All of the Nominees and Honorees will be recognized at the third annual LA Fashion Awards presented by Saturn on October 26, 2007, at the beautiful Orpheum Theatre in the downtown Los Angeles Fashion District.
Winners who will receive honors in the categories of Fashion Achievement, Fashion Communication, and Inspiration were announced at The Standard reception last night. Winners in the competitive categories of Fashion Innovation, Retail, Marketing and Denim Design and will be announced at the Awards gala in October. Each winner receives a handcrafted artisan glass trophy specially designed by renowned artist Caleb Siemon, whose work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. Each winner also receives a subscription to WGSN, the world's leading online research, trend analysis and news service for the fashion and style industries. The winner of the Moss Adams Fashion Innovator (MAFI) Award will also receive $5,000 worth of partner consulting services from Moss Adams LLP, and complimentary membership in Fashion Business Incorporated. Those announced at The Standard reception yesterday also received a limited edition steel cuff from Tattooed Steel, featuring artwork created by Design Tonic.
