Jon Peters gets a star on the Walk of Fame.

May 2

Tuesday, May 1, 2007 Jon Peters gets a star on the Walk of Fame.

JON PETERS

Warren Beatty portrayed this Hollywood legend in the feature film Shampoo. Though a success at the box office this film could not capture the real life intensity of this hairdresser's rise from Barbra Streisand's beau to Chairman of Sony Pictures. Peters managed Barbra's early career before winning multiple Oscars, Grammys, and Golden Globes for such blockbuster hits as A Star Is Born, The Main Event, Caddyshck, Flashdance, Color Purple, Witches of Eastwick, Rain Man, Batman, Batman Returns, Ali, and Superman Returns. The producer's combined grosses exceed $5 Billion worldwide and will continue to soar with two Superman sequels in development.

Charity: Christopher Reeve Foundation, Sheriff's Youth Foundation, Life Rolls On Foundation, My Friend's Place, and countless other youth charities.

Trivia: Appeared in Ten Commandments (1956) (boy on donkey crossing Red Sea).
