Single tickets are now on sale for LA Opera’s 2006/07
Season at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Tickets may be purchased 24 hours a day via the Opera’s
website at www.LAOpera.com or by phone and in person at the LA Opera Box Office, Monday through
Saturday, 10am-6pm.
The upcoming season, which will run from September 9, 2006 to June 16, 2007, features 75
performances of ten operas, four of which will be conducted by the Company’s new Music Director
James Conlon including a special presentation of Verdi’s La Traviata, starring Renée Fleming,
Rolando Villazón and Renato Bruson; the Company premiere of Wagner’s Tannhäuser starring Peter
Seiffert; and new productions of Verdi’s Don Carlo featuring Salvatore Licitra and Dolora Zajick; and
Kurt Weill’s Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny starring Patti LuPone and Audra McDonald.
Other highlights include Company premieres of Massenet’s Manon, starring Anna Netrebko and
Rolando Villazón; Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea starring Frederica von Stade, Susan
Graham and David Daniels; and Federico Moreno Torroba’s Luisa Fernanda, starring Plácido
Domingo.
In addition, LA Opera will present George Gershwin’s classic American opera Porgy and Bess
and Franz Lehár’s sumptuous operetta The Merry Widow starring Susan Graham. Rounding out the
season will be a pair of recital performances given by two of opera’s most celebrated sopranos - Deborah
Voigt (January 14) and Angela Gheorghiu (March 17).
All performances will take place at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Music Center, 135 North
Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Individual tickets range in price from $30 to $220 (tickets for
the special engagement of La Traviata range from $35 to $350, with a select number of premium seats at
$500, and tickets for the two recitals start at $25). Tickets are available in person at the Los Angeles
