NASCAR.COM Offers Daytona 500 Video Downloads on the iTunes Store
Expanded Highlights and Post-Race Interviews Available on iTunes for $1.99
ATLANTA, Feb. 16 NASCAR.COM, the premier online destination for NASCAR fans, today announced that race fans will be able to download video highlights of the 2007 Daytona 500 from the iTunes(R) Store (www.itunes.com). Video highlights of the race, viewable on a computer or iPod(R), will be available as a download from iTunes for $1.99 the day after the race.
The highlights will be produced by NASCAR.COM, a division of Turner Sports New Media, and will capture the action from green flag to checkered flag along with interviews from drivers following the action. The video download gives race fans the ability to relive the key action of The Great American Race, in addition to listening in on key radio communications between drivers and crew chiefs as they battle for this season's most prestigious title.
"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to provide NASCAR fans with this unique ability to take a piece of the Daytona 500 with them anywhere on their iPods," said Dennis Quinn, executive vice president, business development, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. "It's yet another way for NASCAR fans to follow their favorite drivers and relive all the excitement of America's most famous race."
"Over the past year iTunes has given sports fans the ability to download highlights from the country's most popular sporting events," said Eddy Cue, Apple's vice president of iTunes. "We're excited to provide Daytona 500 downloads to our customers and think NASCAR fans everywhere will jump at the chance to own video highlights of this year's race."
In its second year providing NASCAR highlights as a digital download, iTunes will be offering fans a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Season Pass for $19.99 where highlights from each of this season's 36 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races will be automatically downloaded when they become available the day after each race.
The iTunes Store features the world's largest catalog with over four million songs, 350 television shows and over 400 movies. The iTunes Store has sold over two billion songs, 50 million TV shows and over 1.3 million movies, making it the world's most popular online music, TV and movie store.
Turner Sports New Media (TSNM), the interactive division of Turner Sports, Inc., acquired all of NASCAR's interactive rights in October 2000 and became the exclusive producer of NASCAR.COM in January 2001. One of the fastest growing sports Web sites, NASCAR.COM is home to broadband news coverage, fantasy games and the NASCAR.COM SuperStore. The site consistently ranks among the top league sites and was named one of the best sports Web sites on the Internet by BusinessWeek (October 2005).
Through September 2006, the site averaged 3.9 million unique users per month during the 2006 NASCAR season. Additionally, multimedia usage on NASCAR.com is up 40% over 2005. In 2003, NASCAR.COM was awarded an Emmy(R) by the National Television Academy for its TrackPass - PitCommand application.

Chicago Ford Dealers Bring Celebrities, Music, and Fun to Chicago Auto Show
Ford is enlisting Mexican performing artist Patricia Manterola and Grammy-nominated hip-hop singer Kelis to turn up the heat at the Chicago Auto Show. These artists will be supporting various Ford activities including its exclusive automotive sponsorship of the first ever Hispanic day on Feb. 16th.
"We know that these artists will do a great job of generating buzz for Ford," said David Sanabria, Ford Division cross functional marketing manager. "Patricia and Kelis represent great examples of how Ford is finding new and creative ways to connect with our customers."
On Feb. 16th, Ford will be serving as the exclusive automotive sponsor of Hispanic Day. To celebrate this special day, Patricia Manterola will perform on the Telemundo network stage. Manterola will pass out copies of her newest CD and sign autographs. Ford's bilingual product specialists will also provide show goers a chance to win special prizes including T-shirts and key chains. The grand prize will be a trip for two to attend a live taping of the Telemundo sports show, Titulares Y Mas, and a choice between attending tapings of three other popular Telemundo shows: Cada Dia, Cotorreando or Al Rojo Vivo. The winners will also get an exclusive boat ride around Star Island in Florida to see the homes of various celebrities.

The students will get a first hand experience of what goes into making an auto show happen for a company like Ford. Ford Motor Company Fund will make a special outreach to young people with a display highlighting its Driving Skills for Life program which focuses on reducing the tragic number of teenagers killed annually in vehicle crashes.
Finally, on Feb. 17th Grammy nominated hip-hop artist Kelis will make an appearance at the Ford display. Kelis is the star of Ford's latest urban marketing campaign for the all-new crossover the Ford Edge. Auto Affordability Shows a Record Deterioration; Comerica Bank Chief Economist Reports
DETROIT, Feb. 12 The purchase of an average- priced new vehicle took 26.2 weeks of median family income in the fourth quarter, according to the Auto Affordability Index compiled by Detroit-based Comerica Bank. That 2.2 rise in the number of weeks of work required to purchase a new vehicle was the biggest one-quarter deterioration in affordability ever recorded by the index. The sharp drop in affordability in the fourth quarter reversed most of the improvements in affordability recorded over the prior three quarters. Including finance charges, the total cost of buying an average-priced light vehicle was $29,400 in the fourth quarter, up three percent from a year ago. Median family income rose about four percent over those same four quarters.
"The average amount spent on a new car jumped by more than $1,000 in the fourth quarter," said Dana Johnson, Chief Economist at Comerica Bank. "With gasoline prices down sharply and wage and salary incomes showing healthy gains, consumers opened their wallets when shopping for cars and light trucks. That along with a rebound in financing costs reflecting less generous incentive programs resulted in a sharp deterioration in our affordability index in the fourth quarter."
This report incorporates the latest data on consumer spending on light vehicles and on the terms available on auto loans. The entire history of the index is shown in the chart below and is available upon request from Marsha Halliburton (313-222-4568 or mlhalliburton@comerica.com).
Comerica Incorporated (NYSE:CMA) is a financial services company headquartered in Detroit, strategically aligned by three business segments: The Business Bank, The Retail Bank, and Wealth & Institutional Management. Comerica focuses on relationships and helping businesses and people to be successful.

SnoCountry Reports Latest Skiing Conditions Information
Latest Skiing Conditions Information as Supplied By SnoCountry Mountain Reports as of Friday, Feb 9 2007, 6:03:49 AM EST
SNOW CONDITION DEFINITIONS & TERMS
This glossary of terms is used by all ski areas when they report to SCR. The code allows for communication with skiers in a universal language.
NOTE: The standard abbreviations next to each definition reflect the way ski reports are communicated in print (newspapers).
New Snow: Natural snowfall which has fallen in the past 24 hours or continuously for more than one day. An average accumulation from summit to base is reported.
Average Base Depth: An average of the high and low amounts of snow over the entire ski area. Machine made and natural snow amounts are combined.
Primary Surface Condition: The type of snow condition which covers at least 70 percent of the terrain open to skiers.
Secondary Surface Condition: The next most prevalent snow conditions, covering at least 20% of the skiing terrain open to skiers.
Powder-PDR: Cold, new, loose, fluffy, flaky and dry snow which has not been compacted.
Packed Powder-PP: Powder snow, either natural or machine made, that has been packed down by skier traffic or grooming machines. The snow is no longer fluffy, but is not so extremely compacted that it is hard.
Hard Pack-HP: When natural or machine made snow becomes very firmly packed. The snow has never melted and re-crystallized, but it's been tightly compressed through grooming and continuous wind exposure. You can plant a pole in hard packed snow, but it takes more effort than packed powder.
Machine Groomed Snow-MGS: Loose granular snow that has been repeatedly groomed by power tillers so that the texture is halfway between LSGR & PP. Some of the snow is granular & has been so pulverized that the crystals are like powder sugar. It's neither LSGR or PP.
Wet Snow-WETSN: Powder or packed powder snow that has become moist due to a thaw or rainfall, or snow which was moist when it fell.
Wet packed Snow-WPS: Natural or machine made snow that has been previously packed and becomes wet usually because of rainfall.
Loose Granular-LSGR: This surface results after powder or packed powder thaws, then refreezes and recrystalizes, or from an accumulation of sleet. This is also created by machine grooming of frozen or icy snow.
Frozen Granular-FRGR: This is undoubtedly the most misunderstood surface condition in ski reporting. It is defined as a hard surface of old snow formed by granules freezing together after rain or warm temperatures. Frozen granular will support a ski pole stuck into its surface while ice will chip away and not support a pole.
Wet Granular-WETGR: Loose or frozen granular snow which becomes wet after rainfall or high temperatures.
Icy-ICE: Not to be confused with frozen granular, ice is a hard, glazed surface created either by freezing rain, ground water seeping up into the snow and freezing or by the rapid freezing of snow saturated with water from rain or melting. Ice will chip away and not support a ski pole when stuck into it.
Variable Conditions-VC: When no primary surface (70%) can be determined, variable conditions describe a range of surfaces that a skier may encounter. Parts of trails can be Loose Granular, partly Packed Powder, and parts Frozen Granular, for example.
Corn Snow-CORN: Usually found in the spring, Corn Snow is characterized by large, loose granules during the day, which freeze together at night, then warm up again and loosen during the day.
Spring Conditions-SC: This is the spring version of Variable Conditions. It is used when no one surface can describe 70% or more of the terrain open for skiers.
Windblown Snow-WBLN: Powder or granular snow which has been blown by wind into forming a base.
Alpine Skiing/Riding conditions are subject to change due to weather, skier traffic and other factors. Be aware of changing conditions.

Kia Sedona Named 'Best Minivan' by MotorWeek
Minivan Receives Kia's First-Ever Drivers' Choice Award From the Popular Television Series
IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 9 The Kia Sedona added another accolade to its growing trophy case earlier this week at the Chicago Auto Show when MotorWeek announced its selection as "Best Minivan" in its 2007 Drivers' Choice Awards. The recognition marks the first time Kia has received a Drivers' Choice Award from the long-running automotive television program.
"Sedona has been a smash hit with both consumers and the automotive press since its debut last year, and receiving this award from the venerable and well-respected team at MotorWeek is further proof of the impact the vehicle has had in the marketplace," said Len Hunt, executive vice president and COO of Kia Motors America (KMA).
MotorWeek evaluated more than 150 cars and trucks for this year's Drivers' Choice Awards, focusing on superior performance, technology, practicality and dollar value from the consumer's perspective. The winning vehicles were put through a battery of road and track tests as well as comprehensive comparisons to competitors.
"The second-generation Korean-branded design matches all the best features of its rivals, and then beats them in price and powertrain warranty," said John Davis, executive producer, host and creator of MotorWeek. "The leaps that Kia has made in perceived quality with each new vehicle are well documented and Sedona is just the latest example. From school bus to apartment moving, minivans are the most versatile vehicles on the planet, and this one is tops."
Sedona is recognized as an industry leader in safety, proven by its five star crash safety rating from the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and "Top Safety Pick" honor by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Additional praise includes being named a "Best Buy" by Consumer Digest; "Total Value" and "Most Delightful Vehicle" awards from Strategic Vision; and being tabbed "Best Buy -- 2007 Minivan" by Consumer Guide Automotive.
Kia Motors America -- the sales, marketing and distribution arm of Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea -- offers a complete line of vehicles through more than 630 dealers throughout the United States. For more information, including photography, visit www.kiamedia.com. Star ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's SaferCar.gov program (www.safercar.gov).

SnoCountry Reports Latest Skiing Conditions Information
LEBANON, N.H., Feb. 5 Latest Skiing Conditions Information as Supplied By SnoCountry Mountain Reports. As of Monday, Feb 5 2007, 6:01:35 AM EST
Windblown Snow-WBLN: Powder or granular snow which has been blown by wind into forming a base
Alpine Skiing/Riding conditions are subject to change due to weather, skier traffic and other factors. Be aware of changing conditions.

Volkswagen to Elevate Urban Owners and Prospects to Celebrity Status During All-Star Weekend
Volkswagen million dollar sweepstakes, personal paparazzi, big ticket giveaways, celebrity sightings and more throughout 'In it to Win it' weekend
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 5 Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced today that it's taking its Volkswagen Important People (VW i.p.) initiative a step further by creating a complete "VW i.p. Experience" from Friday, February 16, 2007 through Sunday, February 18, 2007. As Las Vegas guests cruise the Strip or visit the Fashion Show mall they will get a firsthand look into celebrity life. The VW i.p. Experience creates a destination where anyone can be treated as a star and allows Volkswagen an opportunity to communicate a direct message of respect, appreciation and value to the African-American and urban community.
"Whether it's having their picture taken by personal paparazzi, being pampered at the VW i.p. Experience Lounge, taking a Million Dollar Joy Ride or winning prizes, the goal is to create an environment where people find themselves completely engulfed in the VW i.p. Experience," says Kenyatta Bynoe, brand marketing manager at Volkswagen.
The Million Dollar Joy Ride is an integral part of the VW i.p. Experience, where participants can test drive a Touareg, Volkswagen's luxury SUV, on a dual course track, located in the south parking deck of the Fashion Show mall. The uniquely designed driving course is meant to showcase both the Touareg's on and off-road capabilities. After a test drive, participants can try their luck by "pulling the lever" on a customized slot machine with prizes ranging from party tickets to iPod shuffles. One lucky person could even win a grand prize of one million dollars! Other prizes include: An all-expense paid trip to the 2008 All-Star weekend in New Orleans (this package contains two first class airline tickets; hotel accommodation; airport transfers; spending cash and tickets to the game); customized VW First Act guitars; Apple TVs; Verizon chocolate V-Cast phones; VIP gift cards (e.g., Louis Vuitton, Still) and many more big ticket items.
Those who participate in the drive will also receive an all-access pass to the VW i.p. Experience Lounge, a 1,000-square-foot custom-designed VW i.p. day spa strategically positioned within the Fashion Show mall. Upon entry, guests will receive nothing less than the royal treatment. Spa services include complimentary manicures, massages, barber services and makeovers given by experienced professionals. Guests will also enjoy light refreshments, video games and music provided by celebrity guest DJ's, such as the legendary DJ Biz Markie. The VW i.p. Experience Lounge and Million Dollar Joy Ride will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 16th through Sunday, February 18th.
By getting "in" and test driving the award-winning Touareg, the VW i.p. "In it to win it" drive event lets consumers gain entry into a world that personifies capability and luxury. As with past VW i.p. sponsored events, Volkswagen will continue its all-inclusive message that everyone should be treated like a VIP and enjoy the VW i.p. lifestyle.
In keeping with the VW i.p. Experience theme is the VW i.p. Paparazzi, a service provided by Picture Marketing, Inc. The idea is to have a paparazzi visit popular places around Vegas snapping candid and staged photos of pedestrians, thus treating them like the celebrities Volkswagen considers them to be. After their personal photo shoot, they are presented with a VW i.p. access card bearing a web address, where they can view and retrieve their free photos. Once on the site, participants can either print or share their images with family and friends.
VW i.p. Celebrity Shuttle service will be provided throughout the weekend to some of the most sought after celebrities and athletes in the business. Additionally, Volkswagen will sponsor and provide car service for two of the weekend's hottest and heavily attended celebrity events: National Basketball Players Association's Gala and the Kenny Smith All-Star Bash, featuring Kenny Smith's Celebrity Poker Tournament (TNT to broadcast live).
Past guests included: Dwyane Wade, Shawn Merriman, Andre 3000 and Big Boi of Outkast, Regina King, Carl Thomas, Ed Lover, Biz Markie, Sleepy Brown, Malinda Williams, Donnell Rawlings, Steven A. Smith and Alonzo Mourning.

Hyundai Motor America Reports January 2007 Sales
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Feb. 1 Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 27,721 units for the month of January. Sales were down 8 percent from Hyundai's record January sales in 2006. Mitsubishi January Sales Soar to 25 Percent Increase
CYPRESS, Calif., Feb. 1 Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) today reported January sales of 9,383 units, up 25.6% from last January's total of 7,463.
It was Mitsubishi's best January since 2004 and the largest single month percentage increase in four-and-half years (July 2002).
"We are very encouraged at this tremendous start to the year," said MMNA CEO Hiroshi Harunari. "Customers are embracing the all-new Outlander crossover sport utility, while our established models like the sporty Eclipse coupe still have tremendous appeal. We are very excited at the prospects for our all-new Lancer sedan, which will begin sales in the Spring."
Outlander sales were 1,918 units, up 166 percent from last year's January volume. Eclipse coupe sales were 2,129, up 37 percent from a year ago.
Other January sales highlights:
* Eclipse Spyder closed at 306 units, more than five times the sales in
January of 2006.
* Lancer closed at 1,684 units, up 15 percent from last January volume.
* Galant sales were 1,654, an increase of more than four percent

Ford Motor Company's January Sales Off 19%; Daily Rental Down 65%
* Ford's January Sales Totaled 166,835, Down 19 Percent Compared With a Year Ago.
* Lower Sales to Daily Rental Companies (Down 65 Percent) Account for Most of the Decline.
* Sales to Retail Customers Were Down Slightly (5 Percent).
* New Crossover Utility Vehicles (Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX) Heat Up Dealer Showrooms.
* Demand Continues to Grow for New Mid-Size Sedans (Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln MKZ).
* All-New Expedition and Navigator Extend Sales Winning Streaks.
DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 1 Ford Motor Company's (NYSE:F) January U.S. sales declined 19 percent compared with a year ago, largely as a result of a planned reduction in sales to daily rental companies. Sales to daily rental companies were cut by 65 percent.
"All of us at Ford are focused on restructuring our business to be profitable at lower volumes and offering more of the products people want, including more cars and more crossovers," said Mark Fields, Ford's President of The Americas. "We are focusing more of our attention on retail customers and reducing sales to daily rental companies sharply. Our customers benefit from this plan because their vehicles' residual values will improve -- a trend we already are seeing with our newest products."
The resale values of Ford's newest products have improved by as much as 11 percentage points -- with Ford closing the gap on many Asian competitors -- according to the Automotive Leasing Guide. Residual values have improved 2 percentage points compared with the prior model year for the 2007 Ford Fusion sedan, 6 points better for the 2007 Lincoln Navigator, 9 points better for the 2007 Ford Expedition and 11 points better for the 2008 Ford Escape. Ford's new 2007 Edge crossover has resale values higher than Toyota Highlander and Nissan Murano.
January marked the first full month on sale for the company's new crossover utilities -- the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX. Edge sales were 5,586 and MKX sales were 1,699. In fact, the Edge post higher sales in its introduction month than did Ford's popular Fusion in its first month (4,078 in October 2005).
Dealers reported higher retail sales for the company's 2007 model mid-size cars, the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln MKZ. In addition, the all- new Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator full-size SUVs extended their winning streaks into 2007. Expedition sales have been higher than a year ago for five months in a row and Navigator sales have been up the last four months.
The Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner utility vehicles posted sharply higher retail sales in advance of a new 2008 model, which now is being shipped to dealers from Ford's Kansas City (Mo.) Assembly Plant.
Ford saw lower sales for its popular F-Series pickup truck in January (down 15 percent), which compares with a strong performance for America's best-selling pickup last year. The company expects softness in new home construction to adversely affect full-size pickup sales through the first half of 2007.

Ford Edge Brings the Latest Music to Fans Via Innovative Video Podcast
* Building on an unprecedented digital launch, Ford Edge is partnering with Rock River Music to launch a series of downloadable, full-length, major label music video podcasts.
* Music has been incorporated into the Edge launch and will continue with artists such as Cat Power, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wolfmother and Gomez.
DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 31 Ford Edge launches the industry's first free music video podcasts from Cat Power, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wolfmother and Gomez. Music fans can download this first-of-its-kind series each month at http://www.fordvehicles.com/edgevideocast. Beginning Jan. 31, customers will be able to go to the Ford Edge Web site, iTunes and other music sites to receive a series of free music videos from Ford.
"It's the first time consumers will be able to download videos for free. A television ad is only 30 seconds, but the video will be 15 minutes," says Dave Sanabria, SUV marketing communications manager for Ford. "It's more time to engage our audience and show them the all-new Edge."
Once somebody clicks on the series it will be delivered through RSS (real simple service) feed. Each month they will receive an automatic update of the series. All monthly episodes will be available for the full year.
"We are using the music to attract the demographic and bring them to the brand," says Jon Melrod, vice president of Rock River Music who is collaborating with Ford on the program. "There will be imagery that evokes what the Edge is about and links so the subscriber can view the product."
In the next couple of years, video podcasts will explode just the way audio podcasts did, says Sanabria and Ford wants to be at the forefront of the industry.
"We expect more customers to look at the Edge, but what we are really trying to do is create a community of users that is interested in the Edge and the music," says Sanabria.
About the Edge Vodcast Artists and Songs
Wolfmother - "Woman"
With their aggressive, melodic songwriting and vintage classic rock sound, Australian band Wolfmother has drawn comparisons to legendary groups like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. The Grammy-nominated, top 10 single "Woman" comes from Wolfmother's self-titled debut album in stores now.
Cat Power - "Lived In Bars"
Indie rock chanteuse Chan Marshall, who records under the name Cat Power, delivered one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2006. Recorded in Memphis, The Greatest features an all-star cast of Southern soul musicians. The latest single, "Lived In Bars," is a prime example of Marshall's unique songwriting gift and her hauntingly beautiful vocals.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Gold Lion"
The lead single off of this year's Grammy-nominated record Show Your Bones ("Best Alternative Album") is a more polished version of the garage/art rock sound that first ignited the attention of fans and critics upon the group's debut in 2003. "Gold Lion" still packs a powerful punch, but the sinuous melody remains long after the crunch of guitars fades.
Gomez - "How We Operate"
Mercury Prize-winning UK band Gomez is quietly building a reputation as one of the finest songwriting groups in rock. The band features a stunning triple threat: three of the group's five members trade lead vocal duties depending on the song. The title track to the album How We Operate is an ageless slice of Britpop that rewards repeated spins.

First Seat Raises the Standards for Child Car-Seat Safety
MONTEREY, Calif., Jan. -- First Seat, LLC announces the design of a passive child car-seat safety system that will significantly raise the standards for child car seats. First Seat applies innovative technology to more effectively deal with frontal impact, and focuses on side impact safety, for which there currently is no standard.
"Side impact is potentially the most dangerous kind of collision," said Shreve Archer, M.D., who designed the seat. "And our seat is designed based on experience from the most extreme accident environment: Formula One racing. The application of this technology to the protection of children will set new standards for the industry."
Recent medical research has shown conclusively that the brain is injured by rapid rotational movements rather than by direct impact. Specifically, side-to-side rotation of the head causes internal 'stretching' forces on the brain. The axon (output wires of the nerves) are stretched, causing them to immediately stop functioning.
The First Seat design limits rotational movements of the head, especially in side impact. This is accomplished by enclosing the child in a rigid shell while protecting the head with viscoelastic foam-the same type used in Formula One racecars. In addition, the child's shoulders are supported, minimizing neck strain.
It is well accepted that controlling the child's forward movement reduces the severity of frontal impact. "While all existing seats rely on 'belt stretch' to decelerate the child, we utilize patented technology that provides for a seat that glides forward with gradual deceleration. The child is held firmly in the seat instead of being allowed to move forward out of the seat and be caught by the belts," said Daryl Donovan, President of First Seat, LLC.
"The combination of these two integrated designs creates a comprehensive safety system for children, and sets a new standard in child-car seat safety design," Donovan said.
First Seat is in the final stages of product testing. "We have found that First Seat keeps children significantly safer in the event of side impact, and we're thrilled to be able to offer this level of safety to parents and consumers," said Birgit Garcia, Chairman of First Seat, LLC.

Newly Crowned National Skating Champ Kimmie Meissner Nails Another Triple: Three Major Endorsement Deals
Meissner Lands National TV Spot With Subway, Also Signs With Under Armour, Visa
DENVER, Jan. 30 America's newest teenage figure skating sensation, Kimmie Meissner, who claimed her first national title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships this past weekend in Spokane, Wash., has now landed three major endorsement deals.
Meissner, 17, who is also the reigning World Champion, will appear in her first national TV commercial with Subway, the sandwich food chain. In addition, she signed pacts with Under Armour, Inc., an athletic clothing company, and Visa.
"I am really excited about working with Subway. I eat there every day after practice," Meissner says. "I am also excited about Under Armour. I like wearing their clothes for practice, to work out and to school. I am really proud of the Visa deal. It's nice to be honored in the same way as someone like Michelle Kwan, who has always been my role model."
Meissner flew from Spokane to New York City to shoot the national TV spot for Subway on Tuesday. The deal with Subway is a perfect fit. She has been a regular customer at a local Subway shop. She stops there daily to order a turkey sub, complete with carrot sticks, on her way to practice sessions at the University of Delaware. After the Olympics in Torino, Italy, the owner of the Subway restaurant where she regularly eats, helped arranged a regional TV commercial.
For the national commercial, she is expected to appear with Subway star Jared Fogle, a college student who lost 245 pounds after eating the subs. Meissner will bring a fresh face to these ads. Since she is a physically fit athlete, she will capture the company's message, by inspiring the American public to "Eat Fresh."
Her pact with Under Armour is especially exciting since the company is based in Baltimore.
She also will be endorsed by Visa, which is a major sponsor of the Olympics. Meissner, who was the youngest American on the U.S. team in Torino, Italy, last year, finished sixth at the Winter Olympics. She followed up that performance by winning the World title in Calgary, Alberta, in March.
Meissner has become the new face of American skating. She is only the second American woman to ever land a triple axel in competition. She achieved that feat at the 2005 U.S. Championships, where she placed third overall. She was second in 2006. By winning the national title this past week, she became the first American since Kristi Yamaguchi to claim the U.S. crown after capturing a world title. Her next goal is to defend her world title in March in Tokyo.

In 2007, DIRECTV will take the NASCAR television experience to another level as it debuts the highly anticipated and exclusive NASCAR HOTPASS(TM) only on DIRECTV during the Daytona 500 on February 18 at Daytona International Speedway. Today, the nation's leading satellite television service provider announced the first five drivers for the debut of this new interactive television service that will enable fans to ride shotgun with their favorite drivers by literally taking them into the cars and pits of the top drivers and teams in NASCAR.
NASCAR HOTPASS(TM) only on DIRECTV, will feature five channels (DIRECTV channels 794-799) completely devoted to specific drivers and their racing teams each week. The service will debut at the Daytona 500 with the following lineup of top NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers:
-- Dale Earnhardt Jr. - Dale Earnhardt Incorporated
-- Kevin Harvick - Richard Childress Racing
-- Jimmie Johnson - Hendrick Motorsports
-- Tony Stewart - Joe Gibbs Racing

"We're proud that the first five drivers who have decided to participate in this incredible new service are among NASCAR's most elite competitors," said David Hill, president of entertainment for DIRECTV. "The drivers are energized and excited about this new way to translate the incredible NASCAR experience, but it is the fans who are in for a truly amazing experience."
To drive national awareness for this exciting and exclusive new package, DIRECTV has completed its first national advertising campaign for the service, featuring the sport's most popular personality, Dale Earnhardt Jr. The spot is set to debut just before the Daytona 500 and is a continuation of DIRECTV's "Fourth Wall" campaign where top actors and athletes recreate a scene from a famous movie or a noteworthy moment of sports competition.
The resulting effect in this case will be Earnhardt Jr. directly addressing the viewing audience while in the middle of a Victory Lane celebration following an actual NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race victory. This same technology was employed in previous DIRECTV spots using footage from popular films such as "Star Trek-The Undiscovered Country," "Dukes of Hazard," "Back to the Future" and recently, NFL game footage featuring Colts quarterback and DIRECTV NFL SUNDAY TICKET spokesman Peyton Manning.
With NASCAR HOTPASS(TM) only on DIRECTV, each of the five dedicated driver channels will offer multiple camera angles, real-time car telemetry, in-car audio communication and a dedicated announcer team. The new service, combined with race day telecasts and nascar.com coverage, will give fans the most comprehensive and powerful NASCAR experience possible.

Peripheral Electronics® introduces FIRST-EVER aUTOMOTIVE multimedia gateway
Revolutionary interface provides seamless connectivity for iPod™, HD Radio®, Bluetooth®, and PlaysForSure® MP3/WMA compatible portable media player; enables full control of multiple portable consumer electronics from the factory head-unit; and retains all system features and functions.
– Peripheral Electronics®, AAMP of America’s innovative OEM integration division, announced today it will introduce the first-ever gateway interface enabling multiple consumer electronics technologies in the automobile. The Automotive Multimedia Gateway (PXDG) provides seamless integration of these technologies into the factory stereo and lets consumers control all the devices directly from the factory head unit.
Peripheral’s Automotive Multimedia Gateway will be compatible with numerous select late-model vehicles. These models include Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Hummer, Pontiac, and Saturn; Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury; Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep; Acura and Honda; Lexus, Scion, and Toyota; Infinity and Nissan; Hyundai and Kia; and Volkswagon.
The PXDG allows connectivity for iPod and MP3 players as well as HD Radio and Bluetooth for hands-free cell phone and audio streaming. In addition to enabling full control of all aftermarket devices from the head unit, it also retains original system features such as satellite radio.
Providing a gateway into the automobile’s multimedia network has long been considered the holy grail of OEM integration. And according to Chris Cook, Peripheral’s Director of Strategic Business, the Gateway addresses a major challenge facing the aftermarket OEM integration industry today: finding a solution to accommodate the influx of portable media devices as well as the needs of an ever-evolving aftermarket mobile electronics market.
“Right now, the mobile electronics industry is experiencing tremendous change,” said Cook. “More and more consumers want to bring their iPods and portable MP3 players with them everywhere, including their cars. But in the last ten years, as automotive technologies have become more computerized, they’ve also become more complex. It’s a lot harder now to integrate traditional aftermarket mobile electronics into these systems.”
The Automotive Multimedia Gateway solves this problem with sophisticated technology of its own. Plugging directly into the factory stereo, the PXDG interface allows for direct communication between the factory stereo and aftermarket devices without losing any of the system’s functionality and control from the factory head unit. Connectivity to iPod and MP3 portable media players, Bluetooth, and HD Radio make it the best solution for consumers who want to take these devices wherever they go.
The Gateway also maintains the system’s factory look and digital-quality sound, a must for anyone looking for true integration of aftermarket mobile electronics into their automobile.
With the most advanced electronics to date, Peripheral’s Automotive Multimedia Gateway represents a milestone in aftermarket mobile audio solutions. Both dealers and consumers will appreciate a solution that finally answers the call of a rapidly growing market.
