McEntire will host the event for an unprecedented ninth time. Faith Hill is nominated for Top Female Vocalist and has previously won 14 Academy of Country Music Awards. Toby Keith is nominated for Top Male Vocalist and has previously won nine Academy of Country Music Awards, including two back-to-back Entertainer of the Year Awards. Martina McBride is nominated for Top Female Vocalist -- her 16th career nomination by the Academy -- and has previously won three Academy of Country Music Awards. She has also been honored with the Academy of Country Music/Home Depot Humanitarian Award. Big & Rich are nominated for Top Vocal Duo, Video of the Year for "8th of November" and for Vocal Event of the Year for "That's How They Do It In Dixie," with Hank Williams Jr., Gretchen Wilson and Van Zant. John Rich has an additional nomination for producing Gretchen Wilson's single, "Politically Uncorrect," which brings his total to five nominations. They have previously been nominated for six Academy of Country Music Awards. This will be John Legend's first performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Jason Aldean is nominated for Song of the Year and Video of the Year for "Amarillo Sky." Last year, he won the Top New Male Vocalist Award.
Vince Gill is nominated for Album of the Year for These Days and Vocal Event of the Year for "Building Bridges" with Brooks & Dunn and Sheryl Crow, and has previously won six Academy of Country Music Awards. Last year, he was the recipient of the ACM/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award.
Little Big Town is nominated for Top Vocal Group and Top New Vocal Duo or Group. This will be the second time they perform on the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Taylor Swift is nominated for Top New Female Vocalist, her first Academy of Country Music Award nomination. This is the first time she will perform live on a network-televised country music awards show. Her three-to-five minute "Road to the ACM Awards" diary entries can currently be seen on Cingular, Sprint and Verizon wireless as part of a CBS Mobile campaign.
Josh Turner is nominated for Song of the Year and Single Record of the Year for "Would You Go With Me" and for Vocal Event of the Year for "Me and God" featuring Dr. Ralph Stanley and Marty Roe, Dana Williams and Gene Johnson of Diamond Rio.

Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Sugarland and host Reba McEntire with special guest Kelly Clarkson are set to perform on the 42ND ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, to be broadcast live from Las Vegas' MGM Grand, Tuesday, May 15 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Brooks & Dunn are nominated for seven awards including Top Vocal Duo and Album of the year for Hillbilly Deluxe. They have previously won 21 Academy of Country Music Awards and are the 2007 recipients of the Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award. Reigning and back-to-back Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, Kenny Chesney, is slated to perform. Should he win Entertainer of the Year again, he will become only the fourth performer in the Academy's history to win the coveted title three or more times. One of the six elite ACM Triple Crown winners -- for Best New, Top and Entertainer -- Chesney's The Road and The Radio Tour in 2006 was North America's most attended concert tour in any genre. He is also nominated for Top Male Vocalist. George Strait leads with eight nominations including Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist and is being recognized as an artist and producer for his album It Just Comes Natural. In his career, Strait has accepted 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year. 1st Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament to Support the Academy of Country Music(R) Charitable Fund
As a part of the Week Vegas Goes Country(R), the Academy of Country Music announced their plans for the 1st Annual Charity Poker Tournament today. The event will be benefiting the Academy of Country Music Charitable Fund. Big & Rich will host the event on Monday, May 14, 2007 with co-host Two Foot Fred at 2:00pm in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Academy of Country Music Charity Poker Tournament is an exclusive event that will help continue the week long celebration in Las Vegas. The MGM Grand will not only be home to the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, but it will also host the tournament. The 1st place winner could receive up to $10,000 and other cash prizes will be awarded to the top ten players. With a maximum of one hundred participants during the tournament, a portion of their buy-in will go to the Academy of Country Music Charitable Fund.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the 1st ever ACM Charity Poker Tourney," says Big Kenny. "We hope to see some big winnings come out of this throw down as we have spent some major time at these tables, so get ready for some Big & Rich fun."
